Respectfully, seeing this was disappointing.
I don't write anything you'd likely find interesting, and that's okay, we all have different interests. It's what keeps the world a multi-layered place. But my target audience wants to be addressed as adults, not fifth graders, and I believe that raises the bar for quality. I don't have a lot of pictures, I write for a grade 9 or above level and tend not to "dumb down" my sentences. I'm proud of that. And if that means I lose those folks who want wordy sound-bites...ah well.
But I say all this with respect and understanding that you have a different standard. I do thank you for sharing your opinions though.
I love this essay! Gardening has been my sport too for many years. I think last year was my best. I'm a little behind this year, because I've been trying to write more so that my words can support me. But I'm still struggling with learning how to balance it all.
Thank you for sharing these words with us!
I hope Sharon is wrong too. But I've been reading her work for many years and historically, she's been right more than she's been wrong.
Sharon was actually one of guiding forces that convinced me to start preparing for hard times. I've been prepping ever since I read her first book. She's smart, she's experienced and she knows what she's talking about.
Thanks for sharing her words here.
